When a super hot August give its place to September, summer in Sardinia is far from being over. In fact, the agenda of the end of the season is full of events conceived for visitors who want to discover the island's most traditional colors and tastes.

 

When the crowd and lively coasts see many tourists leaving, the coming autumn brings the attention back to the magics of the inner Sardinia: in fact, this is the time in which many of the small villages, often by tourists, open their doors to visitors, relealing their traditions, their recipes, flavors, and deep-rooted customs.

 

Like something become usual and familiar, from September to December Sardinia hosts the festival "Autunno in Barbagia" (literally Autumn in Barbagia): according to its name, it consists of weekly events involving the smallest and most caracteristic towns and villages of middle-Sardinia, that attract visitors and tourists keen in experiencing their traditional arts and professions, old artisanal skills, as well as manifacts and products originating from ancient know-how.

 

From Sarule to Bitti, Oliena, Dorgali, Austis, Orani, to get to Nuoro, Teti, Lollove, Ovodda, Mamoiada, Tiana, Fonni, Orune, while driving through Gavoi, orgosolo, Meana Sardo, Lula, Tonara and more. An appintment dedicated to old cultures, traditions and of course... delicious food!
